Is it important that your jewelry means something? Designer Jackie Kaufman creates pieces with the imprint of two fingerprints on a heart. Once you place your order, she will send you a simple mold making kit to get your fingerprints. Then she casts them in sterling silver and engraves your name on the back. Unique and thoughtful, these necklaces would make great great gifts for Valentine's Day, anniversaries, and other occasions. The necklace costs $99.99 (including the molding). For more information or to order, click here for Kaufman's Etsy shop.
Shopping for a petite frame can be tough - it's hard to look modern and sophisticated when your selection is so limited. Fortunately, TLè (pronounced tee-lay) Designs has a collection of fashion-forward petite clothing that comes in fun prints and contemporary silhouettes. Here are some of our favorite looks from the spring/summer collection:

Isla Dress in Fuschia $115 (on sale from $136)

Cascade Dress $178 (on sale from $210)

TLè Designs is available at and boutiques.

Candy & Caviar

Sleekly tailored pieces that go effortlessly from day to night make up Candy & Caviar, a collection designed by Beijing-based Candy Lin. The clothes are modern, urban versions of classic styles (for example: a tweed blazer with a hood). They're also affordable - most pieces retail for $75 - $250. If you're looking for just the right mix of trendy and sophisticated, visit to view the full collection and shop.
Vintage-inspired Obvious tees ooze casual-coolness with their vibrant graphic prints. The line is already a favorite of celebs like Fergie and Natasha Bedingfield, and we can see why! Made from super soft cotton, these tees are perfect for weekends.

Obvious Clothing is available online at and in boutiques nationwide. Prices range from $74-78 for most tees.
If you're going to buy one piece of jewelry this spring, make it a statement cuff. These pieces can add personality to your workday outfit or complement a glitzy nighttime ensemble. Here are some cuffs we spotted on Etsy:

With work experience at Christian Dior and Proenza Schouler and an education from Harvard University and the Chambre Syndicale in Paris under her belt, Graey designer Janet Kim is definitely a rising star. Her fall/winter collection is very feminine and colorful, incorporating a lot of silk and chiffon. Here are some looks we love:

Graey is available online at and in New York boutiques Albertine (13 Christopher St.) and Sucre (357 Bleeker St.). Most pieces are priced between $275 and $375.

ttfnet.pngThere are many fabulous boutiques and online shops carrying indie designers, but we love because it provides true style inspiration along with your shopping experience. The site carries a highly edited selection of cutting edge brands like Gryson, Humanoid, Opening Ceremony, and Rachel Comey and features their pieces in photography spreads showcasing creative ways to style them. For example, in the above photo from the January issue, an Opening Ceremony skirt retailing for almost $300 is paired with accessories from Rodarte for Target.

Noble Youth
is a fun and flirty collection with a youthful vibe. The leopard print tanks and dresses are great for casual nights out or when you want a funky daytime look. And the more basic pieces can also easily go from day to night. The line launched in 2005 and is designed and manufactured in New York by Megan Quinn. Noble Youth is available online (priced between $60 and $225) at and in boutiques around the country.

Cirque du Cheval

Cirque du Cheval is a feminine yet understated based collection by Los Angeles celebrity stylist Michelle Sackson. Her spring collection is constructed mostly from silk in neutral shades. Most pieces are basic with alluring details: a grey tee with lace on the sides, a top that is low-cut in the back, and a shift with ruffles at the neckline.

Cirque du Cheval is available at (most items are priced between $100 and $200) and in several California boutiques. For more information and locations, visit
sprattersjane.pngCold? Snuggle into one of these gorgeous scarves from Spratters & Jayne. The Brooklyn-based indie designer's latest collection of stylish winter must-haves are handmade from 100% Peruvian Highland wool (meaning their deliciously soft) and come in three distinct styles: cowl, lapel, and tube. Customize your pick with heart-shaped or round buttons and choose from nine different colors. Each scarf retails for $159, but it's a worthy investment. I mean, would you ever actually want to take it off?

Spratters & Jayne scarves are available at or on Etsy.
